1961 South Australian Schools' Head of the River

The 1961 Head of the River saw Pulteney Grammar School (PGS), King's College (KC) and Christian Brothers College (CBC) entered the SA Head of the River for the first time.

The 1961 SA Head of the River featured the following events:

- First Eight

- Second Eight

- Open Four

- Under 16 Tub Fours (Slides)

- Under 15 Tub Fours (Slides)


In incredible fashion, Pulteney Grammar School won the First Eight race in their first appearance at the SA Head of the River. King's College also won in their debut regatta with a win in the Open Four. St. Peter's College won the Second Eight and Under 16 Tub Four, and Scotch College won the Under 15 Tub Four.
