1929 South Australian Schools' Head of the River
Saturday, 27 April – Torrens Lake:
The 1929 SA Head of the River featured the following races:
- First Eight
- Open Tub Fours (Slides)
- Open Tub Fours (Fixed)
- Open Clinker Fours
- Under 16 Tub Fours (Fixed)
- Under 15 Tub Fours (Fixed)
The 1929 April regatta was the first time Prince Alfred College raced at the SA Head of the River since 1896. In the First Eight, St. Peter's College beat Scotch College in the final by just 8 feet.
Saturday, 7 December – Torrens Lake:
As part of South Australian Rowing Association "Summer Regatta", the following school events were raced in 1929.

- Open Tub Fours (Slides)
- Open Tub Fours (Fixed)
- Open Clinker Fours
- Under 16 Tub Fours (Fixed)
In the 1929 December regatta, Scotch College won the First Eight by 3 lengths.
