1927 South Australian Schools' Head of the River
** From 1927-1931, there were two Head of the Rivers held in the same year in South Australia; one regatta was raced in April and the other in December.**

The 1927 SA Head of the River featured the following events:
- First Eight
- Open Tub Fours (Slides)
- Open Tub Fours (Fixed)
- Open Clinker Fours
- Under 15 Tub Fours (Fixed)
- Under 14 Tub Fours (Fixed)
The 1927 editions saw the introduction of Scotch College to the regatta. Scotch raced in the Open Tub Fours (Slides and Fixed) and the Under 15 Tub Fours, and, won all of those races.
St. Peter's College won the First Eight race in April by 1½ lengths.
