1944 South Australian Schools' Head of the River

Saturday, 15 April – Torrens Lake:

The 1944 SA Head of the River on Torrens Lake featured the following events:

- First Eight

- Clinker Fours (Seconds)

- Open Tub Fours (Slides)

- Under 16 Tub Fours (Slides)

- Under 15 Tub Fours (Slides)


Scotch College won the Gosse Shield back-to-back for the first time since 1939-40. Adelaide High School won the Clinker Four, Open Tub Four and Under 15 Tub Four, whilst St. Peter's took out the Under 16 Tub Four.
