In round 2, this crew had a close race against Henley RC and Oxford Brookes University winning by 1/2 length only. Later on Saturday they were eliminated in Round 3.

Davies was defeated in round 1 by T H Graves of the Bantam Boat Club by 4 lengths.

Mercantile Rowing Club (VIC) - Bow: Tom M Bertrand, 2: P Henry C Edgar, 3: Stephen C Macek, Str: Michael G Young
Mercantile defeated City of Oxford Rowing Club by 1 3/4 lengths in round one but went down to Newcastle University and Durham University in the second round by a wide margin.
