After a win over Lancaster Royal Grammar School in the first round, this composite crew were beaten by Windsor Boys’ & Poplar Blackwall & District Rowing Club by 2 lengths in Round 2.

Melbourne University and Queen’s Tower Boat Club - Paul E. Reedy (b) and R. G. F. Henderson (s)
After a good win in the first round, this Anglo Australian combination led both to the Barrier and Fawley in round 2. The Irish combination of O'Brien and Collins then took control by the last signal and went onto win by 2 1/2 lengths.
Mosman Rowing Club (NSW) and Commercial Rowing Club (QLD) - James J. A. Burton (b), Shane E. B. McLaughlin (s)
After a good win in the first round, the Australians met the eventual winners in round 2. The Potomac Boat Club and National Training Centre crew of Walker and Lewis accounted for the Australians by 2 1/2 lengths in the second round.

Melbourne University Boat Club - Paul E Reedy
Reedy had a bye in tye first round and then accounted for Greenaway of Kingston Rowing Club by two lengths in the second round. In the third round Reedy defeated Goodbrand of the Rob Roy Boat Club by a length. In the semi-final he met the eventual winner dutchman M L O Vervoorn and went down to him by 2 1/2 lengths.
Commercial Rowing Club (QLD) - James J A Burton
Burton went down to the Irish sculler Towey in the first round by four lengths.
Mosman Rowing Club (NSW) - Shane E. B. McLaughlin
McLaughlin was another first round victim, in his case a loss to L J Fletcher of the Thames Rowing Club by four lengths.
