Double Sculls Challenge Cup

Mosman & Leichhardt - Round 1
Queensland - Round 1

Mosman Rowing Club and Leichhardt Rowing Club - Bow: Mark Campbell (Mosman), Str: Rod Moynahan (Leichhardt)

Queensland - Cy Person and James Annand

Both Australian crews went out in the first round. It was a particularly disappointing start for the Queensland crew who had a clash with a spectator craft getting into the start zone. Whilst their oars were replaced, the gearing was not the same.

Round 2

Victorian Institute of Sport

This crew was a Victorian development crew which also competed at Amsterdam.

Diamond Challenge Sculls

Reedy - Runner-up
Anderson - Semi-finalist
Burton - Round 3

Melbourne University Boat Club (VIC) - Paul Reedy

Queensland - Peter L Andersen

Queensland - James J A Burton

Paul Reedy made the final but was defeated by Leander's R G F Henderson.

Andersen was an 'adopted' Queenslander hailing from Bagsvared Roklub and was eliminated by Paul Reddy in the semi-final.

Burton departure was bizarre arising from his borrowed boat being taken back by the owner who thought that it was no longer required. To make matters worse, it was the last race on Friday with little chance of deferral to rectify the situation. Paul Reddy kindly lent Burton his boat but he did not progress.

Silver Goblets & Nickalls' Challenge Cup

Round 1

Queensland - Mike Davies and David Hobart

The Queenslanders were eliminated by the eventual winners D R Gillard & N J Clarry of Goldie Boat Club, Cambridge.
