2019 PSA Head of the River
The 120th Head of the River took place on Saturday 23rd March, 2019 at Champion Lakes. The regatta was hosted by Scotch College.
The winner of the Challenge Cup was Christ Church Grammar School (C.C.G.S.) first VIII. The race was a memorable win for C.C.G.S. by overcoming their competitors by a staggering 9.32 seconds. The commentator described the accomplishment when crossing the line, “most professional performance in many years”. The head rowing coach at C.C.G.S., Mr J. Forbes quoted on C.C.G.S. school’s website, “The boys were very keen to win the final race of the year after such a fantastic season.”

Hamer Cup
The winner of the Hamer Cup with the most points during the regatta were Trinity College. It was a close competition between Trinity College and Guildford School with Trinity only winning with six more points. The full results of the Hamer Cup can be seen below:

The narrowest of margins separated Trinity and Christ Church for first place in this race. Trinity remained slightly ahead of the Christ Church crew throughout the race, with half a boats length or less. The final outcome, was a win for Trinity with only less of a second (0.69 of a sec) separated the two crews.
