1960 PSA Head of the River
The 1960 PSA Head of the River was conducted over the last mile of the King's Cup course on Saturday 23 April 1960. The Head of the River started at Crawley Bay and finishing at the Swan Brewery – the 1st VIII’s over 1 mile the 2nd VII’s, the Fours and Old Boy’s Race over ¾ mile. It was a tough course for crews, particularly if the Fremantle Doctor came in early making water conditions quite choppy. As mentioned, the course was part of the 3-mile King’s Cup course which stared at Majestic Point to the Brewery.
