Graham Mahony, the five man of the Aquinas crew in a speech on Aquinas rowing on 1st November 2025, described the race as follows: After the first quarter mile Scotch, Aquinas, Guildford and Christ Church were on even terms. At the half, Guildford edged to the front with steady powerful stroking. Aquinas and Christ Church led Scotch by a canvas. At the three-quarter Guildford had consolidated its lead with Scotch slipping back. The light Aquinas lads conceding a stone per head to the powerful Guildford and Christ Church crews battled on to take second place. The time was 5 mins. 31.5 secs.
