1993 Gold Medal Winning Women's Pair

Peta Coudraye and Amy Safe

This was a good performance by the Australian team with all crews making the final and three medals being won. The SASI based athletes performed very well with the women's pair leading from start to finish. Their fellow SASI athlete Sally Newmarch raced well in the single scull to get a silver but was overpowered by the great German sculler Katrin Rutschow, who won comfortably. The Queensland NSW combination of Ralph Cruickshank and Rob Plater also raced well to take a bronze in the double scull.
