History of World Rowing Under 23 Championships

2003 Nations Cup— Belgrade Serbia

This team contained many members who were to make their mark at both the senior World Championships and the Olympic Games. It was a great advertisement as to why these championships are important. As you would expect with such good pedigree in the team, many medals were won and so a positive result for the Australian team.

The men had incredible success in Belgrade, attaining three gold medals in the quad, single and lightweight four. They also collected two silver medals and one bronze. While the women were unable to defend the overall title from 2001 and 2002, they still attained impressive results including gold in the double and two silver medals.
