1999 NSW Schoolgirls Head of the River

Fellow North Shore school Pymble Ladies’ College overpowered their rivals in yesterday’s Schoolgirls’ Head of the River, winning the first eights race by almost nine seconds from Wenona.
A staggering 29.06s separated the field over the 2km course. PLC also won two other titles in the preliminaries in the 21-race regatta.
Loreto Normanhurst held off a game challenge from PLC in the first coxed four – one of five second placings the Pymble-based college achieved on the day.
Queenwood emerged triumphant in the open coxed fours, with SCEGS Redlands and Roseville in second and third.
