Thomas Schramko

Thomas Schramko, from New South Wales, is quickly establishing himself as one of Australia’s brightest talents in the world of rowing. Known for his achievements in the Single Scull, Double Scull, and Quad Scull, Schramko’s career is defined by his strong performances in youth and under-23 competitions, his versatility across boat classes, and his rapid ascent through the ranks of Australian rowing.

Schramko’s rowing career took off at a young age, marked by his victory in the Under 19 Quad Scull at the 2013 National Championships, a triumph that indicated his potential in team events. He also raced at the World Rowing Junior Championships that year, where his crew finished in 11th place in the Quad Scull. Although the result was not a podium finish, it gave Schramko valuable international experience.

In 2014, Schramko’s progress was further solidified with a series of impressive domestic results. At the National Championships, he claimed gold in both the Under 19 Single Scull and Under 19 Double Scull, showcasing his ability to perform in both individual and team events. Schramko also made his mark internationally, finishing 9th in the Single Scull at the World Rowing Junior Championships and competing at the Youth Olympic Games in the Single Scull, where he secured an 8th place finish. These results not only affirmed his status as one of Australia’s top young rowers but also set the stage for future success.

By 2015, Schramko had established himself as one of the premier under-23 rowers in Australia. At the National Championships, he earned gold in the Under 23 Double Scull and in the Men’s Interstate Youth Eight, leading the Australian crew to victory in the prestigious event. Internationally, Schramko continued to impress, finishing 10th at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in the Double Scull. Although he did not make the podium, the experience of competing at such a high level added invaluable depth to his career.

The year 2016 marked a significant breakthrough for Schramko. He dominated the Under 23 category at the National Championships, winning gold in the Under 23 Single Scull, Under 23 Double Scull, and Under 23 Quad Scull, showcasing his adaptability and skill in a variety of boat classes. His crowning achievement came at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships, where Schramko and his crew secured gold in the Quad Scull, capping off an outstanding season.

Thomas Schramko’s career trajectory is nothing short of impressive. His early successes at both the national and international levels reflect his talent, hard work, and determination. From his victories in the Under 19 and Under 23categories to his gold medal performance at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships, Schramko has proven that he has what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of competitive rowing.

In recent years, Tom has turned his hand to coaching with success. His ability to recruit and motivate young rowers is excellent.
