Margaret on the right with her 1969 Victorian Four

Margaret has been a driving force in women’s rowing as a competitor, coach and administrator. Her work has often been in the background and has been a key factor in implementing major changes to the sport. For example she assisted in establishing women’s rowing in New Zealand and ACT. She assisted in the re-introduction of women’s rowing and sculling in South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania and was a significant contributor to the resurrection of women’s rowing in Victoria.

Perhaps less known is her assistance in the introduction of Lightweight women’s rowing internationally and the introduction of women’s rowing at the Olympic Games. Her life continues to be one devoted to the sport of rowing and, in particular, women’s rowing.
