Neville J Kempton OAM

Swan River Rowing Club (WA)

Neville was a successful lightweight oarsman and Australian representative before becoming an even more successful rowing coach and administrator.

In the 2025 King's Birthday Honours List, this great work was recognised with being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia. His citation reads as follows:

• Coach, Men's lightweight 4, 1995, 2014, 2017, and 2023.

• Competitor, lightweight 4, 1978, 1979, 1982, 1985, and 1991.  

• King's Cup, 1987.

• Competitor, World Championships Australian Lightweight Eight, 1982.
