Upon bestowing life membership on Mr Jenkins, the club's annual report recorded as follows.

Mr. Jenkin, who is now a vice-president of the Club, became a member in 1904, when the Club was situated in Punt Road, Richmond. He has held various offices on the committee, and was captain in 1910-11-12, and he is now a member of the Boat Advisory Committee.

Mr. Jenkin was the first Richmond member to row in a Victorian crew. In the Australian championships - now the King's Cup - he was No. 6 in the Victorian crew that won on the Swan River, W.A., in 1912; No. 6 in the crew which rowed on the Port River, S.A., in 1913; and No. 4 in the 1914 crew, when the race was rowed on the Yarra.

In addition to his rowing prowess, Mr. Jenkin was a wrestler of note, being the holder of the Australian amateur heavyweight championship from 1911 to 1920, and Victorian amateur champion over the same period.

Mr Jenkin also represented his club at the Victorian Rowing Association and was a Vice-President from 1927 to 1960.
