Albert G Elliott MM

Antwerp Rowing Club (VIC)

Albert Gordon Elliott was born in 1882 at Katyl, via Antwerp. He was a labourer who enlisted for WWI on 7th January 1915 into 22nd Battalion . 

He was awarded the Military Medal for gallant work on 26-29th July 1916 as no 2 of gun crew with 6th MG Company at Pozieres. The award was made on 18th August 1916.

He was wounded on 29th July 1916 in the same engagement, losing his right eye, 50% vision in his left eye and receiving other shell splinters.
