Rowing Australia’s profile of Renae extracted on the 5th of June 2020 advised:

Dr Renae Domaschenz made her Australian Rowing Team debut in 2018 as the coxswain of the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four. The Research Fellow for the Department of Genomes Sciences at the Australian National University also works as the Assistant Coach/Pathways Development Coordinator for the ACT Academy of Sport/ Rowing ACT High Performance Program while also fulfilling her national team duties. Renae sites Cambridge as her favourite place to row, a somewhat unsurprising choice as the she is a former coxswain for the Cambridge University Boat Club and coxed the CUWBC in the famous Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race when she was based in the UK. Domaschenz is also the coach of Kathryn Ross who competed at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in the PR2 Women's Single Scull, winning gold.
