Sophie Deans
Mosman Rowing Club (NSW), Yale University Boat Club (USA) and Cambridge University Boat Club (UK)
Sophie commenced her rowing at Queenwood College in Sydney with her first known win being a Year 9 Schoolgirl coxed quad scull Div 2. She had a stellar run at school with much success over four years. This was followed by a short but successful time at Mosman before heading off to Yale University.
Sophie recognised her time in Australia when quoted saying that Rowing in Australia was very formative for me.
Sophie maintained a busy rowing career in parallel with her Yale studies finishing in the second varsity eight.
Cambridge University beckoned in 2019 and she continued her rowing, winning the Boat Race easily in 2019.

2017 – Ivy League Championships Bronze medal. Bow seat of the second Varsity 8
2018 – Ivy League Championships silver medal. 4 seat of the 2nd Varsity 8
2018 – NCAA Championships 6th place. 4 seat of the 2nd Varsity 8
2019 – The Boat Race, Cambridge University Blue Boat, two seat - First
