Former State and International Champion oarsman Max Annett from Leichhardt Rowing Club passed peacefully away on Monday, 6th July in Hospital after a fall at his home at Avoca.
Max represented NSW in the Kings Cup in 1958, as a member of the winning eight 1959, and again in 1960. Max also competed in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome as a member of the of the Australian Coxed Four with Mick Allen, Peter Waddington and John Hudson with Lionel Robberds their coxswain.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Barbara and family as well as his many friends from within the NSW Rowing Community. He has been officially recognised as a valuable volunteer at SIRC.
