Robert (Bob) McD Alexander OAM

GPSOB Rowing Club (QLD)

Bob was a sculler of some renown representing Australia in 1975 World Championships in Nottingham.

Coaching followed with national levels crews and scullers under his wing.

However, he is best known for being the "Regatta King" in Queensland and assisting with Regatta Secretarial duties at many National Championships. He has been the Queensland regatta secretary since the mid 1980s!

A humble and competent servant of the sport for which we are grateful. There was therefore no surprise that he was recognised in 2005 with a Medal of the Order of Australia.
