Sir Thomas a'Beckett

Victoria

1836-1919

A renown barrister and judge in Victoria whose biography in the Australian Dictionary of Biography notes that (H)e was a keen oarsman, hunted very occasionally, walked, cycled and played tennis.

He obviously passed on that sporting interest to at least one of his sons Thomas Archibald a'Beckett, who was also a noted oarsman and tennis player.
