1946

Prior to the regatta recommencing after WWII, the Association Secretary wrote to the Victorian Rowing Association noting the regattas contributions to charities, rowing and river improvements over time The results are interesting:

  • Charities £ 3.048
  • River improvements £4,164
  • Expenses contributions to visiting non-Melbourne crews £4,922
  • Donations to VRA and Victorian clubs £3,464
  • Donations to Australian crews competing overseas £700

Whilst these sums do not appear to be significant in modern day terms, they were substantial sums when provided.

The regatta was conducted on 23rd November before a large crowd.
