1878- Intercolonial Men's Eight Championship (Vic) seven seat- First

1879- Intercolonial Men's Eight Championship (Vic) seven seat- Second

He was renowned as a good oarsman with plenty of power.He also had good success in pair oared rowing. He also won the challenge eight and four in 1877 at the Melbourne Regatta and helped take off the Footscray Plate for senior eights.
