Reuben F W Womersley

Jeparit Rowing Club (VIC)

Reuben Frederick William Womersley was born in Lubeck Victoria in 1882 and was nearly 22 years old when he enlisted on 29th September 1914. His service number was 1421 and his occupation, saddler.

He embarked from Melbourne on 22nd December 1914 and served at Gallipoli. It was here that he was treated for rheumatism and deafness. He was repatriated to Australia in October 1915 and discharged on 12th May 1916.

Reuben married Mary Elizabeth and died in 1965. 

He also enlisted for service in WW2.
