Warwick Mahoney

Mercantile Rowing Club (VIC)

The following obituary was provided in the Mercantile 1995-96 annual report

Coming to Mercantile from Sydney, Warwick was immediately among friends.

He gave enormous service as a Victorian Rowing Association and Australian Rowing Official. A man of direct and answerable courage, he even stopped the National Regatta because he said it was unfair to the competitors.

Warwick was a man of humour and goodwill. He radiated enthusiasm. In spite of recent ill-health, he continued to serve rowing. Mercantile will long remember him and his generous spirit.
