M L (George) James

Brisbane Rowing Club then GPSOB and BRC Rowing Club (Queensland)

Jack Pritchard in his book Rowing in Queensland wrote:

During the year [1971-72] the death occurred of M.L. "George" James, a committee man of the old Brisbane RC and a continuing supporter of the GPSOB & BRC, a staunch worker for Queensland particularly when the King's Cup was in Brisbane, and rowing was the poorer for his departure.
