Ken H Boykett

Adelaide Rowing Club (SA) and Mercantile Rowing Club (VIC)

The following obituary appeared in the 1971-72 Mercantile Annual Report.

It is with deep regret that we record the death of one of our most esteemed members.

Ken began his rowing career in Adelaide where he rowed with both Adelaide University and Adelaide Rowing Club before moving to Melbourne in the early 1930's.

On arrival in Melbourne, he continued his association with rowing and fostered a love of the sport in his sons.

He was a most generous benefactor of rowing, and Mercantile in particular, and many of the Club's younger members will remember with gratitude the numerous times he made available his coxed racing pair ''I'zingari" for Club crews to race in. The sympathy of the members of the Club is extended to his wife and family in their bereavement.
