If was generally regretted that none of the Geelong Collegians were members of the club. so all scholars were to be admitted without entrance fee. Mr. Shannon was empowered to purchase a new pleasure and sculling boats.

Finance: Small credit balance. Subscriptions raised to two guineas, entrance fee half a guinea.
Petition presented for removal of the Breakwater. It was decided that in the absence of any information to show how this would affect the level of the river, the club in the meantime preferred to put up with the inconvenience.

Fleet: 4-oared outrigger ordered from Oxford
A discussion arose as to whether gentlemen giving £5 donations to the outrigger fund should be considered life members, but it was decided to postpone the consideration.

SEASON 1875-1876

The outrigger from Oxford arrived in good order about Christmas, but through carelessness in unloading it was se riously damaged. After some trouble, we had the damage repaired at the expense of the stevedore.

SEASON 1876-1877

New boats were 8-oared outrigger from Edwards £50 and a clinker 4-oared sliding seat outrigger from C. Blunt £40

SEASON 1877-1878

The president very generously placed at the disposal of the committee four handsome cups for competition amongst the members

SEASON 1878-1879

The secretary of the football club promised to use his endeavours to obtain the gate money from the next two matches towards the rowing club's overdraft

SEASON 1880-1881

There were no meetings held between August 1880 and January 1883 when for 10 years the club changed to holding the annual general meeting at the end of the calender year.

Your committee would earnestly call upon the rowing members to redouble their exertions and practice as assisdu¬ously as possible, so that in after years they may recall with pride and gratification the days when they belonged to the old club, and how in many a hard fought contest they helped to uphold its honor and carry its colours to the front. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the club's gardener.

The rowing season was formally opened with the customary picnic to Queen's Park. The weather was all that could be desired and the members with their guests from the kindred clubs from the Grammar School, College and Corio Bay, after having partaken of an al fresco repast beneath the spreading foliage of the pines, enthusiastically entered into the various sports provided. A start was made for home and a paddle down with wind and current in the cool of the evening brought to a successful termination a most pleasant outing.

Owing to the prolonged absence, through illness, of Mr. H. Steedman, captain of the club, the position of leader had been conferred on Mr. A. F. Garrard, who had proved himself the right man in the right place.

The members should definitely decide as to whether selection should be left entirely to the captain or a selection committee. It was agreed after some discussion that the selection committee should consist of the captain, vice-captain and Messrs Buckland & Wright. An interesting discussion as to whether a permenant "coach" should be appointed followed.

SEASON 1892-1893

The captain deplored the tendency now prevailing among club athletes of expecting the club of which they were active members to pay their expenses and subscriptions. He hoped that none of the rowing men would become tarnished with the objectionable practice

SEASON 1893-1894

The captain attributed a good deal of the laxity in regard to the regular payment of subscriptions to the latitude al¬lowed playing members by football clubs. Many such members were permitted to hold the idea that they were do¬ing their club a favour by playing for it, instead of regarding it as an honour to be allowed to represent it on the field.

The captain was glad to see that the amount of regatta fees paid by the club had been fully refunded by the crews as this showed a truly amateur ,spirit among the members. A member wanted to know if any new pleasure boats would be purchased
